A little humor helps on an FTD journey. I learned to laugh at all the blueberries on my kitchen floor. My husband became obsessed with blueberries.
When My husband was diagnosed with FTD. This is the image I drew. It kind of shocked me when I was finished but it was devastating news for us.
I had never heard of FTD so when my husband Barry began to change I was irritated all the time. I did this drawing at that time. I knew something bad was happening but I didn’t know what.
Our journey with FTD was a painful one as we tried to figure out why my husband, my kid’s father was acting so differently. I tried to do artwork to explain visually what he was going through.
Today starts FTD awareness week. A dementia that effects people under 60 years of age.
